Peccia CIPP Research Project at Carroll College

November 18, 2009

The Cured-in-Place Pipe (CIPP) Corporation, through Robert Peccia, has committed $10,000 to the Carroll College Engineering Department to conduct research for determining the friction of typical cured-in-place pipe. Results of this research will be published as part of the CIPP Corporation’s product information for potential users. Gary Fischer, P.E., of Carroll College and Craig Jenneskens, P.E. of RPA will be lead investigators of the project. Two Carroll College senior civil engineering students, James Lytton and Eli Yost, will conduct the research.

CIPP Corporation has provided $5,000 initially to the project, which is dedicated to a specific Carroll College general ledger account, to fund the research portion. Costs will include materials, labor for laboratory research and preparation of a results report, laboratory rental, and office supplies to support the research. Upon completion of the project and acceptance of the project results report, CIPP Corporation will provide the remaining $5,000 to the College. It is anticipated that this project will extend through the 2009 Fall Semester and a portion of the 2010 Spring Semester, ending approximately March 1, 2010.

The intent of this gift to the College is to provide a research opportunity and paid engineering experience for students; utilize the engineering laboratory facilities at Carroll College; and provide results to the CIPP Corporation for their use in published information. The money is restricted solely for the purpose of this research. If money remains in the research account after all project costs have been expended, the remainder will be transferred to the Carroll College Engineering Department general account.

Carroll College would like to acknowledge Mr. Robert Peccia and the CIPP Corporation of 515 5th Street, P.O. Box 398, Hudson, Iowa 50643 for this gift.
